HEROINE – CELEBRATION AND PROTEST IN WOMEN’S ART
Proud to be part of this exhibition to coincide with International Women’s Day 2019.

.M Contemporary hosts the inaugural Heroine Exhibition. The Exhibition brings together emerging and established Australian artists with a series of renowned international names, each a daring and adventurous identity in women’s art.

The small ink drawings included in this exhibition were created while I was in artist-in-residence in Finland in 2017. They are intimate observation of the plants that grew along the path to the lake I visited every day/night for a month.

GUNYAH
Thrilled to be undertaking the Gunyah creative residency with Paula Broom in June 2018. Gunyah is a unique artist’s residency located in the village of North Arm Cove, in the NSW Great Lakes region. Our residency presents an opportunity to explore experiences of the human body in the landscape and relationships between health, wellbeing and the natural environment. The process of walking in and through the landscape will contribute to the conceptual development of the artwork, by physically relating to the environment.

PRECARIOUS
solo exhibition at M Contemporary, Woollahra.

ARTELES INTERNATIONAL RESIDENCY, FINLAND
In July 2017 I had the pleasure of undertaking a studio residency at Arteles Creative Center in Finland. Arteles is one of the largest international studio residencies in Scandinavia.

During my time at Arteles I reflected on ideas of change and belonging. I created a series of charcoal drawings exploring the visual symbols and motives of the urban environment that for me represented ideas around change, growth, destruction and displacement: keys, cranes, ladders and scaffolding.

Also as a daily practice, I created a small series of ink drawings of the plants I saw on the side of the road.

UNRAVEL
An exhibition of drawings and sculpture.
AirSpace Projects.
Exhibition Dates: 3 June – 18 June 2016.

Unravel is an exhibition of drawings and sculpture. This body of work continues my interest in ideas of belonging, loss, displacement, migration, travel and home. It is both a response to the uncertainties of our time as well as a personal narrative, one that is still in the process of unraveling.

MIGRATION PUBLIC ART PROJECT 2014
In 2014 I was awarded a commission to create a significant public artwork to celebrate the contribution that migrants have made to the city of Wollongong. It was a great honor to have been selected to create a landmark sculpture that makes reference to boats, journeys and the steel industry of the Wollongong region.

In addition to funding from Wollongong City Council, many businesses generously contributed in-kind support to the fabrication and installation of the sculptures. The additional support allowed the project to expand to include a series of three artworks collectively called Dwellings. The project highlights the continuing contribution migrants make to the City of Wollongong.

GLENWOOD COMMUNITY HUB PUBLIC ART PROJECT 2013 – 2015
I was commissioned by Blacktown City Council to create a series of public artworks for the Glenwood Community Hub in Western Sydney.

Cultivations” is a series of 8 laser-cut corten steel artworks displayed along a 20m glass wall of the banquet hall. Text relating to each artwork is printed on the glass. The project involved a community engagement process to inform the imagery and text developed for artworks. During a series of workshops conducted in the local community people were to identify a plant that is significant to them. From the plants identified a selection was made to inform the creation of the artworks. The variety of plants selected demonstrates the cultural diversity of the Glenwood community.

To support the commission I was awarded a visual arts residency in Blacktown in 2014, courtesy Blacktown Art Centre.
