Blue Drawings 2017
The series of small ink drawings that I created while I was artist-in-resident in Finland in 2017. Making a small drawing each day became a meditative way for me to connect with the place, they are intimate observations of the plants that grew along the path on the way to the lake. I visited the lake every day for one month. Walking at different times of the day and night to the lake, observing the shift of light reflecting on the lake’s surface. The plants may be considered weeds, however they held a delicate beauty and wonder for me, one which I have been able to recall and reflect upon once back in Australia.
